Melick adds a rookie

June 10, 2005

POWELL, OH — The same street that produced last year's Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Loozer has also produced this year's first rookie. Peter Minardi hopes to follow in the success of Eric Melick. "Bro, let me tell you, when I got back from GVIII one of the first things I did was tell Minardi he had to come next year," said Eric Melick, GVIII Rookie of the Year. "I think what sealed the deal was when he heard Bret was buying six-pack coolers for everyone this year with the Golfapalooza logo on them." Lyme was unavailable for comment.

Also unavailable for comment was Brian Flanagan, Golfapalooza Founding Father and fellow neighbor of Minardi. Rumor has it Flanagan was on the driving range at Mountain Valley working on his game after finishing T-62 following Round 1 of the Carl Spackler Open.

Minardi makes the sixth Loozer to register for this year's event. Plenty of spots are still available.
