GALLOWAY, OH — Jason Watson's back nine in Round 1 could be considered a $337 mistake.  Randy knows that after scoring 4 points and placing 3rd by only 8 points.

Watson also knows he could easily have joined Trojanowski in a playoff at The Colonial Golf Club to decide the Carl Spackler Open title if not win the Golden Jacket outright.  All he had to do was score 12 points in 9 holes.

"At the time, the bogey putts didn't seem all that important.  I just was hitting everything badly.  Very badly."  Randy's game on the back nine never gave him a chance.  "It is not like I was not trying to win the tournament in Round 1, but I obviously lost it", said Watson.  "There are only a few opportunities for a major championship.  This one will take some time to get over."

Randy Watson, 29, Vice President of Tournament Rules scored 34 putt points and scored 33, 32, 38 points in the last three rounds. "I'm not going to look back and say I had a terrible first round (21 points) in the Carl Spackler Open. I'm going to look back and say I made a great effort and placed 3rd."
