CLAYTON, NC — The Captains Club increased the stakes in the 2006 tournament. Another prize to not reward great golf, but great photographic shots. With the deadline for photographs today, the greatest still photograph will be determined in the next week and winners will be rewarded $150.00 towards the 2007 Carl Spackler Open. Second place will get $75.00.

All received photographs will be reviewed for finalists. "We would like upload all photographs to the website," says Greg Long. "The top photographs will be nominated for a group vote."

The higher volume of photographs is expected to help generate even more excitement for future championships and a fresh website.

"Get those photos into the business office," said an arrogant Trent Cooper. "I want to see all my putt points on film. I really looked good out there."

Mike Herron won the contest last year after snapping a photo of Kevin Long's shart. He cashed in $75.00.

"This has generated some pretty funny stuff," says Jay Dilks. "These ensure our memories will be relived for many many years."

The 2007 Carl Spackler Open begins in 340 days. Venue visits are planned this summer. Invitations will be mailed on November 15 with $120 non-refundable deposit due by January 3, 2007.
